Strengthening Youth Participation in Adolescent Reproductive Health Through Global Mobility
The identification of adolescents as a distinct age group has assumed that they are simply old children or young adults. However, recent developments have shown that adolescents have specific needs and challenges that cut across gender, culture, ethnicity, and nationality. Moreover, with the global effects brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, it intensifies the issues related to mental health problems, teenage pregnancy, and other reproductive health concerns, education, and livelihood, among others.

While the pandemic has not been “the great equalizer” that many have hoped for, it has challenged and proved the strength of global collaboration in addressing common problems. Recognizing this lesson, the Gender and Development Office of Tabaco City collaborated with the United States Embassy-Philippines for the orientation of global mobility opportunities for adolescents and youth-serving organizations serving the city.
Through this activity, the youths and adolescents were introduced to international opportunities, provided RH education, information, and awareness campaigns, and forged collaboration and networks with global partners in adolescents and youth development.
